It is July
The pilgrimage. Part 2.

It is July and we have reached the end.
Our journey's object is at last fulfilled.
The pilgrimage is done, perhaps some merit gained.
Some knowledge learned, or else some truth distilled
from all those mountains climbed, the cold, the heat;
The company, the scenery we saw.
Much easier by bike than using feet
to walk those endless miles from early dawn
until the mid-day's unrelenting sun
found pilgrims hiding underneath a tree.
Across the land we cycled then alone
as on we pressed towards our destiny.
We are pleased we've done it as we now arrive,
And grateful that somehow we're still alive.
