Twin Towers

It was a strange sensation
To watch the plane crash into
The Tower as she was talking
About the plumber.

My wife politely said "Oh dear."
As the other rattled on and on,
Oblivious to the carnage,
About the Plumber.

I strained to hear the TV.
The commentator explaining.
She asked "Is he alright?"
Looking at me.
Then continued to talk
About the plumber.

Another plane appeared then
To pierce the second tower.
"Holy Cow" someone said
On TV, but she talked
About the plumber.

Now I don't remember what
The plumber did so wrong;
But how strange it was she found
More important the plumber's tale,
Than all of New York's hell.
